In addition to its spiritual ministry, the Evangelical Council attends
to the social rehabilitation of prisoners with the objective of helping
them, once they leave prison, to find decent jobs that can help them
earn their living.
For instance, in Tripoli Prison, we have established a computer center
that provides certificates of completion that enable the trained
prisoners to find work once they are released from prison.
And in addition to computer training, the Evangelical Council played an
important role in helping women prisoners learn handiwork, such as
embroidery and needle work.
The Council also participates in exhibitions by displaying the handiwork
of the prisoners, and help in the sales process in order to help those
prisoners generate some income while they are stuck behind bars and are
not able to go out and sell their products, so the Council plays a
big role in helping those who have no one to support them.
